There is almost no difference in the actual training. The quality of the scuba diving course strongly depends on your dive instructor no matter what organization you should choose to certify with. In terms of dive training, there is very little difference between SSI and PADI. They both follow the diving standards set by WRSTC (World Recreational Scuba Training Council) meaning that knowledge and skill requirements are almost the same. Certifications at any level below Divemaster are interchangeable. The certification received from either organization is recognized and accepted worldwide. In just a matter of days you can open the door to a new passion which will last you for a lifetime. This is the basic entry-level program and is all you need to dive without direct professional supervision. You and your dive buddies will be able to go off adventuring alone, or join a group of other divers with a Divemaster if you like.
You will cover all of the basics of scuba diving from physics and physiology, equipment, gas management, through to underwater communications, understanding marine life and dive planning.
Over the course of 2-3 days your instructor will guide you to full understanding of everything you need to know what to do to remain safe underwater, and have a great time. You’ll be a knowledgeable diver in no time.
With this certification, a new universe opens up to you and you can then explore the ocean up to 18 meters anywhere in the world.
During this course, you will learn the basics of scuba diving, the different techniques specific to this activity, you will familiarize yourself with the equipment and learn how to use it safely. Your Open Water certification is recognized all over the world, by all organizations (SSI, PADI, NAUI, CMAS, ANMP, BSAC, RAID, FFESSM, etc.).
You will be Open Water certified after having learned to perform about twenty exercises in shallow water, such as controlling your buoyancy or the various emergency procedures and after having carried out 4 dives in the sea where you will apply the various techniques. These skills are learned in class and in shallow water.  All training is done from one of our boats and food will be provided as well.    

Once you complete your Open Water certification you are certified for life!

It is easy for dive skills to get rusty and to lose confidence when you have not dived for 6 months or longer.  With the SSI Scuba Skills Update, we will get you back in the water and diving with ease in no time. This SSI SCUBA Refresher Course allows you to review and practice SCUBA skills you learned in your Open Water Diver program, under the guidance of a SSI Professional. This is a great course to take just before a dive holiday, so you spend less time worrying about your skills and more time admiring the marine life. If you are a non-certified Open Water Diver student, a Scuba Skills Update is ideal for practicing your dive skills before your open water training dives. With no fixed course duration, you can take your time and focus on the skills you need help with.

If you cannot decide which specialty programs are the best choice for you, join the SSI Advanced Adventurer program! With this program, you can try a variety of specialties before committing to full specialty programs. It is a great way to experience what advanced diver training is all about and how valuable it can be to your diving adventures. During the Advanced Adventurer Program, you will try out 5 different specialties. You will complete one open water training dive per specialty after a comprehensive briefing with your SSI Instructor. With this trial program in specialty diving, you will have total freedom to explore. You can complete the full specialty programs any time in the future and credit your Advanced Adventurer training towards them.  

Prerequisites:

You are at least 10 years old and you have at least the Open Water Junior level or equivalent, then you can enroll in the Advanced Adventurer training (the equivalent of the Advanced Open Water PADI).
During this training, if you are over 12 years old, you will discover the pleasures of deep diving (30 meters for those over 15 years old, 21 meters for 12-14 year olds, and maximum 12 meters for children under 12 years old).
You will also develop your knowledge of navigation and buoyancy control. You will be able to visit wrecks, use a dive computer, begin to recognize and identify the different species of fish, corals and underwater plants. 
Malapascua is perfectly suited for the Shark Ecology Adventure Dive.  It’s another look that you will open on diving and even more pleasure and sensations to experience. Each of the validated dives can be credited for the corresponding specialty training.

SSI Enriched Air Nitrox Course:

Become an SSI Nitrox Diver

As a Nitrox diver, you can increase your bottom times and safety margins, plus shorten your surface intervals – so you can spend more time diving and less time waiting! In this program, you will learn new skills and increase your diving knowledge whilst learning how to safely plan and dive with enriched air mixtures of up to 40% oxygen. Upon completion, you will earn an SSI Enriched Air Nitrox 32% or 40% certification.  The Nitrox Dry Course which is classroom only is 9,499php.

During the Stress & Rescue (Or Rescue Diver) course, you will learn how to manage your stress and that of other divers on the surface and underwater, you will become comfortable with all the basic exercises for certified divers.
You will know how to assist a panicked, unconscious or non-breathing diver. You will learn how to organize a search for a lost diver, how to manage an accident, contact EMS and understand and resolve attacks by aquatic species.

The React Right course is required to start the Stress & Rescue course, and must be completed no more than two years prior to the course.
During the first aid course, you will learn all the techniques to apprehend an accident and help a person to stay alive, you will also learn all the basics to make a diagnosis on a sick or injured person, and how to help him before help does not arrive!  You will learn CPR and O2 therapy along with AED training.

Do you want to change professions? Do you want to travel around the world? It will allow you to take people already certified in diving, you will be the dive guide.  You will need to have your own mask, dive computer, DSMB and torch.  All other gear that is needed is included in the Divemaster program.
